Video games have an exciting way of simulating the impossible, giving the average geek super human muscles or global influence or fantastic problem solving realities. Few expected a game about going to the bathroom and showering would be one of the best selling video games in history. Will Wright, the acclaimed creator of the Sim City series, released the life simulation game the Sims in 2000, selling 16 million copies and becoming the best-selling PC game. The Sims, Sims 2, and its dozens of expansions have sold more than 70 million copies. The Sims attracted casual gamers, and especially women who rarely played video games and was even huge fun for serious gamers. Yes, casual gaming can appeal to both serious and casual gamers with easy to learn yet hard to master gameplay.
