In the prehistoric days, kids looked forward to rare computer class where they learned typing on Apple IIs with less processing power than my four year old cell phone. The highlight of these lessons was the chance to play Oregon Trail, the classic of educational gaming. Oregon Trail, first introduced in 1971, taught kids about the hardship and challenges of traversing the west, watching your family die off and hunting pixilated buffalo and bunnies. It was the most fun learning in school until Wikipedia.
