One of the greatest Star Wars video games owes it all to those little building blocks called Legos. Lego Star Wars gave the duel trilogy a hilarious and enjoyable romp through the galaxy with tons of collectables, vehicles, and playable characters. More Lego games including the just released Indiana Jones and upccoming Batman lead me to wonder what else can the franchise build.
7. Power Rangers
They might be campy and kiddy, but they still have awesome video game potential yet to be realized. Awesome martial arts moves with cool weapons and giant robots all to fight a bizarre assortment of monsters. With hundreds of monsters, Zords, and different kinds of Power Rangers over the years, there’s tons of unlockables to give this game long legs. Just remember co-op. This is a team effort.
6. South Park
Let’s see the mature side of Legos by turning the foul mouthed kids of Colorado into colorful blocks of fun. Let’s even risk the cliched sandbox approach, rebuilding the entire town of South Park in Legos with missions from the show, like fighting vicious turkeys and Mecha-Streisand.
5. X-Men
Good and evil mutants and lots of giant robots could make this an extra special X-Men game. Let’s experiment here and mix the dungeon crawling of X-Men Legends with the semi-side scrolling of Lego Star Wars to make this an action packed adventure with tons of super powers and more playable characters than you list in 60 seconds. Go!
Lego already milks this franchise with playsets galore, so let’s see these come to life, allowing players to add new sections to Hogwarts Castle, and maybe even customize the experience. Missions would include exploring the castle for new pieces, flying on broomsticks and mystical creatures, and tons of wizard dueling with the ability to play as students, teachers, and some villains.
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Heroes in a Half-Shell have had a run of tragic video games, so let’s have Legos remedy the problem. With four-player co-op, players take control of the Turtles, unlocks their assortment of allies and villains, while putting together an arsenal of vehicles from the Turtle Van to the Turtle Blimp to the Technodome.
2. G.I. Joe
Hundreds of characters and even more missile shooting vehicles, you could make Star Wars jealous. This game has few limits, from intense firefights with hundreds of ninjas and cannon fodder on the screen to high octane vehicular combat. And let’s include some base customization in case Cobra Commander decides to attack.
Unlockable characters and vehicles mixed into one - it’s like video game magic. Let’s bring the entire Transformers history into one game with all the classic and not-so-classic Autobots and Decepticons. For some added enjoyment, let’s have some customizable weapons and even a build-your-own-Bot segment. These are Legos after all.
