My life in Boston comes to a close. My cable’s about to be shut off, and I’ll be moving to Chicago, with a stop off at my parents.  Please forgive any haphazard posting over the next week or so as I’m unsure when I’ll have internet access.

It’s sad leaving Boston, my home for five years, most of it as an Emerson undergrad.  Even though I hate the subway system, the roads are insane, and its hard to find great pizza, this was my first home. Now I enter University of Chicago for my graduate studies and even worse pizza (the sauce goes under the cheese).

I’m incredible excited even though I still have like half my apartment to pack.  So I better get back to work.  And keep reading Prodigeek for all my exciting academic achievements, social failures, and pizza explorations.

Today, Prodigeek is excited to announce the mobile version of our fine website.  Users of PDAs, cellphones, or PSPs can simply plug in one of our many domains, like prodigeek.com, and you will automatically be redirected to the mobile verison - a bare bones but endearing site.  Since I only have one phone (Verizon XV6800) with Internet Explorer Mobile and a PSP, there might be issues.  Please email mobile@prodigeek.com or comment on this post if you find any bugs.  Please enjoy…

Sorry for the past three days of down time.  My host has been in the process of upgrading many features, quadrupling my disc space, for instance, but it’s not worth the space if I can’t have a website live.  Hopefully things will improve.  I have back-dated the past days worth of Geek-Moments for you to enjoy (and keep the calendar organized).  Geek Chic will be published on Tuesday (two in one week, yay).

Have a great weekend.

What a year - my first year after college, no summer break, two jobs, and way too many video games. I started Prodigeek over a year ago as a way to explore geek culture and suck up to potential graduate schools, but it has since grown into a bit of an obsession and has challenged me as a writer and developer. I, Michael Sherrin, run Prodigeek all by my lonesome with tons of help from everyone I can get to listen. Prodigeek only turned into a daily blog in September and has steadily grown in readers - readers I want to thank for putting up with my learning what and how to write and all my bad jokes.

To celebrate the New Year, I have redesigned Prodigeek with more features, cleaner navigation, and hopefully a more enjoyable experience. There’s an full Archives page and a Best of Prodigeek. You can also view my recommended reading list on the right sidebar or at my Google Shared items page.

I have lots of exciting plans for 2008, starting with a year-long feature - the 365 Geek-Out Moments. Every day, I will post a short blurb about a memorable and influential moment in geek history (including weekends).

Please leave any feedback, suggestions, or requests here or if you prefer, you can email me at prodigeek@mikecs.net or use my contact page.

I hope everyone has a great New Year and please keep reading Prodigeek through the New Year.

Sincerely,
Michael C. Sherrin

After our New Year’s crisis (delayed Y2K I’m certain), Prodigeek is back in business. All our content is restored and everything, knock on wood, seems to be running smoothly. Thank you for your patience and I apologize for any inconvenience. I will be announcing some exciting new updates to the site shortly…

I hope everyone is having a great holiday - there’s certainly enough video games to give as gifts this holiday season; there’s something for everyone. Enjoy your families (and gifts) this holiday instead of wasting time reading my blog (since I’m not updating it). I’ll see you all again on Wednesday.

Happy holidays

A blogger’s work is never done, but for this next week, it’s on hold.  I will be vacationing until October 28th (in London, first time in Europe, yay).  Since I am a professional, I have already prepared for you an entire week’s worth of awesome posts, featuring an extra special edition of The 7…so special, it’s The 50 for next week.  50 of what? Well, you’ll have to come back next week to see.  Also, there will still be new postings of Geek Out Game and Geek Chic, though if something goes wrong, please don’t hold it against me.  A man is only as good as the software he uses.  So I hope everyone has a great week enjoying the posts I stayed up nights preparing (at the avoidance of better things, like Half-Life: Orange Box, thank you).  And type you again on the 29th.

After a long hiatus, I’m back and posting. I apologize for my long delay; I recently graduated from college and have entered the working world (you didn’t think I did this for a living, did you?). I am a web producer for a web start-up, Blue Egg, providing information and resources on green and sustainable living. Being only a few months old, I’m putting in the majority of my time as start-up life is a demanding mistress. My posts will be more intermittent, though I’ll try to post at least once a week now that things are starting to plateau. Thank you and I hope you keep reading.
